“My artwork is informed by a love of landscape, as well as a desire to explore line, texture, and abstract forms.

The drawings featured here were made over four summers in the early 2000s when I had the great fortune to study under the minimalist artist Peter Kolisnyk. Peter pushed me to approach drawing as play, to experiment with materials and forms, while freeing myself of any thought of representation. Peter’s teachings continue to influence my abstract work.

I began printmaking in 2017, taking classes in etching, lithography and relief printing at the Ottawa School of Art, under the excellent guidance of artist-teachers Guillermo Trejo, Deidre Hierlihy and Rob Hinchley. Instantly hooked by what printmaking offered in terms of technical complexity, variety, and opportunity for experimentation, I soon joined the Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers Connective and began exhibiting in group shows. I now have my own printmaking studio at home. I continue to draw and paint as well.
